We held our first
Long Island speed dating
singles event on Valentines Day 2003 and have since expanded
to Brooklyn and Queens.

How are you
different from other speed dating companies? |
*Our events
are only held on the weekends.
*We require identification showing
proof of age. We believe in delivering what
we advertise. If you are looking to date someone
outside of the specified age category you fall in,
unfortunately our speed dating parties may not be right
for you.
*Personal service-
Our phone number is on the bottom of
every page. If you have any questions after
reviewing the website or are a little nervous about trying
an event, feel free to call us at 516-908-9638 or
718-757-6933. When deciding on a speed dating
organization, check to see if you can easily find a
telephone number to call should you have questions.
To avoid "fly by night" groups, also make sure the company
has an updated website.
*We send the matches to you the next
day. You paid for the event and we don't feel
you should have to do the work by entering in your own
matches after the event. When you are forced to
enter your own matches, you could be left wondering if
someone really didn't pick you, or if something happened
and they didn't get to enter in the matches.
*One Way Matches- If someone
picked you, but you didn't pick them, we still let you
know just in case you change your mind.

Where are speed
dating parties held? |
Speed dating
parties are held on Long Island, in both Nassau and
Suffolk county, Queens, and in Brooklyn. You don't
need to travel to Manhattan anymore to try speed dating.
Our venues have included Bruno's in Ronkonkoma, Cats Meow
in Smithtown, Jillian's of Westbury, The Sly Fox in
Queens, Noche Blue in Levittown, RC Dugans in East Meadow,
Mulcahy's in Wantagh,
Brandywine in Bay Ridge,
Delia's
Lounge Bay Ridge, Greenhouse Cafe in Bay Ridge, and
Pazzo Bay Ridge.

How the events
work: |
| Events are
designed by age category and all participants are required
to show identification showing proof of age. We
don't think it is fair to advertise one age group and
deliver something else. Everyone makes an advance
reservation and payment to ensure we have an equal number
of men and women.
You will have up to 20 mini
speed dates during the night, each one lasting about 4-5
minutes. After
each date, you will circle yes or no on your scorecard as to
whether or not you would be interested in corresponding with
that person further. At the end of the evening you will
turn in your scorecard for us to tally. The next morning
you will receive an email letting you know who you matched
with. The email will provide you with the person's first
name and email address and they will get your first name and
email address. We even let you know the one way matches
(they picked you, but you didn't pick them), just in case you
change your mind. Thus far 70-80% of the participants
leave the event with at least one match (meaning that you
picked a person and they picked you too).
As one participant said "This is great! I could have
stared at a guy all night in a bar, and never have spoken to
him. This forces you to be social." For more details on

Why we started WeekendDating.com: |
It is not easy meeting single people nowadays. For
starters, the awkward first approach can be very
uncomfortable. The bars or clubs may not be the best
place to meet a quality person to date because we already
start with a conflict of interest. Most women have said that
they go to bars/clubs to hang out with friends, while most
guys go to "pick up." Many women wont even consider a
guy they meet in a bar or a club because "he is probably just
looking for one thing." So where do you go to meet
people? This question has led to the popularity of speed
dating. Our singles events takes online dating to the
next level, getting people out from beyond the computer and
cuts right to the chase. People come to
make new friends, and possible new romantic connections.

Do you do other
types of singles events? |
|
We also hold "Meet Your Match"
parties which are similar to "Lock and Key parties". They are a lot of
fun, but less structured than speed dating events.
Additionally we have group speed
dating activity events such as indoor rock climbing and bowling.
