I just got an AWESOME call from someone who attended one of our past Cool Seat events. She told me exactly what I had hoped to hear. Here is the jist of our conversation. - Melissa: I just wanted to thank you for last night. It was fun and I loved the different format!
- Jay: Thanks so much, you made my day. May I ask a little more of what specifically you liked?
- Melissa: The format allowed us to get to know more about the featured person. I got to see more of what they are about. There was a guy at the event named Billy.
- Melissa: Never in a million years would I have picked him if this was an in person speed dating. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the in person speed dating very much. However, some of the things that came out while Billy was featured, may not have come out in the traditional speed dating format. I got to observe some things and saw that we have some common interests and are looking for some of the same things.
Im so glad that we both picked each other and were a match! I also got to make some new girlfriends!
What is the Cool Seat?
This event is for Singles Only and you will be meeting local singles from the comfort of your home via your computer with Webcam or Smart Phone/Tablet (strong wifi connection required). You will have the opportunity to meet people of the opposite gender for potential dating and of the same gender for friendship.
Why is it called the Cool Seat and how else is it similar/different from a virtual speed dating event?:
This singles event takes place in a fun relaxed group environment where everyone gets a chance to be in the Cool Seat. When you are in the Cool Seat, the host (me-Jay) would be having a conversation with you for about 1.5-3 minutes.
*We would start out with the basics (e.g. Where are you from, what do you do),
but then get into some questions that will bring out your likes and
personality. (Example might be: Where is your favorite place that you have
traveled or would like to visit)? If you have any specific topics you want me
to discuss with you... while you are featured (topics that will bring out your
personality), you can let me know when registering and I will do my best to
touch on them.
*As we are talking, the other participants will be observing our interaction and learning more about you. (Remember, you are not meeting people one on one, but rather in a group environment)
NOTE: While this conversation is going on, All participants must still have their camera on. If you need to go to the bathroom or something else quick, then that is fine. Otherwise the observers need to also keep their camera on.
*Just like with traditional speed dating, at the end of the event you will be able to let us know who you were interested in. However, unlike regular speed dating, you can let us know who you would be interested in for potential dating of the opposite sex, and for potential friendship of the same sex. We will send you both mutual matches (you picked them and they picked you) as well as one way matches (they picked you but you did not pick them).
Have you done the Cool Seat format before?
Yes and people really enjoyed the format! It is certainly different than
regular speed dating, but gave people the opportunity to meet other singles in a
safe environment.
This format is meant to really bring out more of your personality beyond the just what do you do for fun, where do you work stuff. (we do cover that basic stuff too though)
How many people will be there?
The minimum number of potential dates will be 5 and the maximum will be about
10. If for any reason there were less than 5 members of the opposite sex in
attendance, you would get credit for a future Virtual event.
How do I find the Virtual
Room?
After you purchase your ticket, you will get a confirmation appear on your
screen along with the zoom link for you to use to log in.
