Our very first Nassau County event took place at Union Square Lounge in Merrick on Valentines Day 2003. Since then, the events have expanded across Long Island to Jericho, Woodbury, Massapequa, Great Neck, Hicksville and many more locations.

How It All Started
Originally, the company was called Long Island Speed Dating because that was the only place events were held. Jay attended a bunch of NYC speed dating events, but nobody was offering them on Long Island, and the NYC events were often on weeknights. Seeing the opportunity, he launched his first LI event at a local lounge, and things grew quickly from there.
Hosting events at a local bar helped fine tune the format, and soon larger, nicer venues began welcoming the events. Before long, couples were forming and word of mouth spread fast. As of today, more than 75 marriages have come out of the events, plus countless long term relationships.

Tips for First Time Attendees
1) Show up on time. Arrive 30 minutes early to check in, relax, and get settled before the rotations start.
2) Everyone feels awkward at first. Totally normal. Like jumping into a cold pool, it feels weird for a minute, then quickly becomes fun. After one or two rounds, people loosen up and genuinely enjoy themselves.
3) Focus on being present, not perfect. You do not need the perfect line. A simple hello and a real conversation go a long way.
